If we don’t reinvent society, billionaires who control tech and AI will destroy it. Together we can stop them and use our collective will and modern technology to create the world we deserve.
AI is the sharpest double-edged sword humanity has ever forged. It can, if we change our political system to benefit all people, be a part of creating a golden age of humanity reflecting the dreams of the most creative idealists. However, in the wrong hands, which are the hands of the people that currently control it, AI will bring about the end of human history in terrifying fashion that would make even the most dystopian writers shudder.
If we continue on the path we are on, AI will cause unprecedented unemployment levels in the hundreds of millions, end the need for a human workforce, and cause widespread poverty. The self-interested few that currently control AI's present and future are working to bring about the American nightmare and destroy humanity.
We must stop them. AI development needs to be a product of all of our collective guidance and done for all of our benefit. If it can't be that, then AI should never be made. The story of AI should be one of unlocking human potential and thriving at a scale we've never seen, rather than one where tech-elitists destroy the human experiment.
